We'd love to hear more about your child and your concerns, but before we do that I'd love to share some information with you.
We help children of all ages, ranging from little ones that are just a few years old all the way through the teenage years.
Our specialty lies in the diagnosis & treatment of sensory processing disorder, however we use our understanding of how the brain processes sensory information to help children with a wide variety of challenges.
If you are unsure whether we can help your child overcome their challenges, please reach out to us!
We are in network with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. Your specific coverage for OT services is dependent on your specific plan. We recommend you reach out directly to BCBS to determine your coverage.
If you are covered by a different insurance company we will be out of network. We are willing to provide any super bills or documentation should you choose to file for out of network coverage. Our cash rate for evaluations is $400, and $160 for therapy sessions.
Right now we have afternoon availability at our clinic located at 8735 Dunwoody Place Atlanta, GA 30350.
At this time we are not available to do home visits or school visits.
As far as evaluations are concerned, once we get all of the paperwork & documentation gathered, we typically schedule 1 - 2 weeks out depending on your schedule.
** Update 12/5: Now offering morning appointments. Reach out for more information.
#2. Get a prescription from your pediatrician
#3. Take a picture of your insurance card (if you have BCBS)
Thank you! Now I have a few homework items for you to complete before we schedule the evaluation (more detailed instructions can be found in the FAQ section below).
Please use the button below to fill out our intake forms. This should take about 10 - 15 minutes to fill out.

To get the prescription, reach out to your pediatrician and explain to them why you are seeking out support from an OT. They should be willing to write you a prescription without requiring you to come in for a visit. Please share our fax number with them - (770)798-9832
If you have insurance coverage with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield - yes, we need a picture of your insurance card. Please send a picture (front & back) to team@childreninmotion.com. If you have insurance coverage with another agency, we will not need a picture of your insurance card.
Our evaluations typically take an hour to complete - and hour and a half at most.
For our evaluations we like to focus completely on the child. Parents are welcome to join in, but we request that they keep quiet & to themselves so we can get the most accurate information from the child.
Our evaluations include a combination of standardized testing & clinical observations in a game like format. We will also do a variety of activities to understand how your child's nervous system is working. During the evaluation, we may give you any relevant parent questionnaires to complete to help us get a better understanding of your how we can support your child.
Love this question! We start by establishing measurable goals. For example, for a kiddo who is working on building handwriting skills they could have a goal of maintaining correct letter formation when they write their name three out of five times.
Other ways we measure success is through observation & performance, and parent interviews. We collect data through observations (ex. this session they had correct letter formation one out of five times - still not quite to their goal, but better than when we started working together).
We also talk with the parents frequently and ask them 'How is (fill in the blank) going at home? Are you seeing any progress?'. These are the primary ways we measure the success of our clients here at Children In Motion.
Occupational therapy is more of a 'long haul' journey. In our therapy sessions we are building muscles, rewiring & building new neural pathways in the brain, and working through challenging tasks. The skills we are working on in OT are skills that your child will use for their entire life! It is important to take the time it takes to build these skills so that your child can thrive for years to come. Depending on your child's specific goals, they could be in OT anywhere between six months to multiple years.
We do not offer discounts for multiple siblings. We can however try to arrange the schedule to minimize your trips to the clinic every week.
